New VHI Maternity Benefit payment increase to benefit thousands of families. |
Mount Carmel Hospital is pleased to announce that from the 1st of January 2010, the maternity benefit payable for VHI Plans B - Parents & Kids and Family Plan Plus will increase to € 4,000; Parents & Kids members will be entitled to this benefit from their renewal date or earlier if requested. As the largest private health insurer in Ireland, VHI’s increased payment will benefit thousands of families.
Mount Carmel Hospital, Ireland’s only private maternity hospital, offers a range of consultant-led, Maternity Care options from 1 night semi-private to 3 nights private.
This latest increase in maternity benefit means the cost of Maternity Care in Mount Carmel Hospital for these plan members for a 1 night semi-private option is now completely covered (zero cost to member); the net cost after tax relief for a 2 night semi-private stay is now € 632 and a 3 night private stay is now €1,592.

Mount Carmel Hospital facilitates the collection of stem cells at delivery and also provides a Special Care Baby Unit staffed 24/7 by Consultant Paediatricians and Neonatal Nurses.
Mount Carmel Hospital also offers state-of-the-art pregnancy ultrasound services including 3D and 4D scanning. This service is open to all women not just patients at Mount Carmel.
Quinn HealthCare ‘Essential Plus’ and Hibernian Aviva ‘Level 2 Hospital’ or ‘Level 2 Everyday’ policies also provide a maternity benefit of € 4,000 to their members.
Consultant Obstetrician fees are paid directly to the consultant of your choice and are paid in addition to the Hospital Maternity Care Fees, consultant fees at Mount Carmel range from €3,000 to €3,800 and qualify for tax relief.

Aut Even Private Hospital, Kilkenny, has earned accreditation from Joint Commission International, the worldwide leader in improving the quality of healthcare. Joint Commission International's on-site evaluation of Aut Even Hospital occurred in November and was conducted by a team of international health care experts.
Joint Commission International is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare through voluntary accreditation. Joint Commission International's Standards focus on the areas that most directly impact patient care. These include access to care, assessment of patients, infection control, patient and family rights and education. Standards also address facility management and safety, staff qualifications, quality improvement, organizational leadership and management of information.

Mount Carmel Hospital Dublin recently launched a new Multidisciplinary Service for Good Bone Health.
The new service offers men and women a unique opportunity to assess and improve bone health through the skills and expertise of a professional, multidisciplinary, medical-care team. The new service includes a Dexa diagnostic scan, group sessions with a Chartered Physiotherapist and Dietitian.
A very successful Public Information Evening was held on 29th September 2009 at Mount Carmel Hospital to launch the new service.

Mount Carmel Hospital has won a top award in the hospitality industry, taking the Hotel & Catering Review Gold Medal Award 2009 for Institutional Catering - provided by the Healthcare Team of Aramark/Campbell Catering Ireland.
"The Team at Mount Carmel Hospital consistently show great initiative and drive standards within their business", said Aramark Ireland CEO Joan O'Shaughnessy. The presentation of the award took place on Monday, 21st September 2009 at the Shelbourne Hotel Dublin, and this awawrd for Institutional Caterers was sponsored by The National Hygiene Partnership.
